At the society's AGM on 15 January 2010 Ron Hook was awarded Honorary Life Membership in recognition of his services to the society. He has been especially hard working at setting up the society's archive.

Annual Subscription Renewal Notice 

Subscriptions renewals are due on 1st January or may be paid in person at the AGM. If you are paying by post please either pay by cheque, or arrange to pay by Standing Order using the attached form. Please use the Tear Off slip to advise whether payment is by Cheque or Standing Order and/or to notify any changes in your address details on the back of the slip. Prompt payment is appreciated and does help to keep overheads down.

Small lapel badges for members are now available at a cost of £2. The badges are of a good quality cast design, approx 19mm diameter and have a pin and clutch fixing. A small number having a broach fixing, mainly for lady members are also available. Badges may be obtained from the Treasurer at evening lectures. Alternatively if you include the additional payment with your subscription renewal, a pin badge will be delivered at the next event or posted to members not regularly attending. 

Ties with a single shield motif in maroon, blue or green are available from the Secretary price £6.

The President and Members of the Council have great pleasure in welcoming the following new Members who have joined the Society in the last year.

To encourage new members to join the Society, Membership Gift Vouchers are now available from the Treasurer at a special introductory fee of £5. You may wish to present a voucher to a friend or relation as a way of introducing them to the Society and its activities. A short membership application form is included in the card for the prospective member to complete. The vouchers will be available at Lectures or can be posted.

Do you have difficulty getting to the Friday meetings or could you provide transport to a fellow member living in your area? If the answer to either question is yes the please call Bob Bacon on Colchester 578825 who will then try to put members requiring, and those willing to give, lifts in touch with each other.
